Well, check me out on roller skates! I haven’t been roller skating in who knows how long, but my cousin Nick is all into the roller skating rink lately, and he invited me to meet him there. And so, I went! Of course I dragged Tony along with me…
He was a good sport about it. Good old Tony. He’s always up for anything new. And being at the roller rink with your 41 year old mother on a Friday night is way cool, no matter what anyone else thinks. Tony doesn’t care about stuff like that, anyways. When I asked him to go with me, he said, “Sure! Sounds like fun.”
And we DID have fun!
A.J. wanted to come along, too. He had a blast. In this photo he is wearing the quad skates, but he kept falling down and just could never get comfortable with them.
So he traded them in for the roller blades, and after that — well, he was all over the rink, skating like a pro!
And here is my cousin Nick. He is my favorite cousin. Nick is five years older than me, and we grew up together. He is always into something. This year it seems to be the roller rink skating, but last year it was ballroom dancing. The year before that, it was distance running. And the year before that, he was into Arbonne and was a consultant on my team. And I think the year before that it was competitive Foozball ( you know, that table soccer game. I’m probably spelling it wrong!) Whatever he is doing, he makes it fun.
Here’s a video of about one minute of our night out at the roller rink. Nick is out on the floor skating and we are watching, because for this song only those who had their own skates (not rentals) were allowed out on the floor (in other words, the really good skaters!)
