What are little girls made of?

I know the song, but it doesn’t work here in our family. Sugar & Spice do not really describe my girls all that much. They are a bit rough and tumble and dig for worms and hunt lizards and search for sand crabs at the beach…

Aislynn found a baby lizzard this morning in our backyard.

It was so tiny! She wanted to keep him but I explained that he needed to grow up a bit and couldn’t do that if we kept him in a cage. So, she let him go. She said he must miss his family and that she would probably see him again one day when he “grows up”.

Who said rough and tumble couldn’t also have a kind heart? I guess there’s a bit of Sugar & Spice, afterall.
