The Cartwheel

June 4, 2010

Aria is the funniest baby, I swear. Not a day goes by that she doesn’t make us laugh and laugh at the things she says and does.

Last night, she was sleeping in our bed next to Rich. When I was ready for bed, I crawled in and had to move her over a bit so that I had room. As I was shifting her over, she spoke in her sleep. She said, “Stoppppppp….Ayyyyy Jayyyyy!” in this aggrivated, whiney voice. Rich and I just looked at each other and started laughing. Even in her sleep, she’s bossy. A.J. is her 7 year old brother who completely dotes on her all day long, so much so that she has to tell him to leave her alone a lot of the time, and she does this by saying, “Stop, A.J” (stop hugging me, stop kissing on me, stop carrying me around, etc) So we thought this was funny when she said that even in her sleep. So cute.

Another thing she does almost daily is her “cartwheels” — well, her version of a cartwheel. This started one day about 3 or 4 months ago. Avery, Alex, and A.J. were turning cartwheels in the backyard, and she wanted to do what they were doing. She got down on her hands and knees and lifted up one leg and held that position for the longest time. Everyone looked at her and yelled, “Look at Aria! She’s doing a cartwheel!” and so….that became the BIG thing.

Now, whenever we say, “Aria…do a cartwheel” this is what we see:

She can hold this stance for an amazingly long time.
I’m always impressed with how long she can stay with her leg up in the air like that!
She’s so stink’n cute!
I just can’t get enough of her :)
