Friend Makin’ Monday

March 14, 2011

There is a blog hop of sorts going on at All The Weigh — it’s called Friend Makin’ Monday.  Check it out, if you’re in the mood to expand your blog audience and make new blogging friends!  Here are my answers to the survey:

1) What’s your favorite brand of make-up? Are you loyal to one brand?  I used to be a Lancome girl for many years for no particular reason, but then in 2006 I became a consultant with Arbonne (initially because I loved their anti-aging skin care)  and then I tried their make-up, and I’ve been loyal to that brand ever since.  It’s a very good quality, costs less than the Lancome, and it’s healthy — and since everything that you put onto your skin gets into your bloodstream, I wanted healthy products on my face.  So, I use Arbonne’s make-up: mineral powder foundation, lips sticks, lip glosses, blush, eye liner, mascara, eye shadows — they have it all :)

2) What is the last thing you drank?  hot chocolate (I don’t drink coffee, so this is my “coffee” in the morning!)

3) What’s your favorite Girl Scout cookie?   I love the chocolate covered peanut butter  patti’s  — can’t think of the name right now, but it’s in a red box!  Yum!  Do you know that I have three daughters in the Girl Scouts this year?  I have a Daisy girl scout (Aislynn)  and a Junior girl scout (Avery)  and a Senior girl scout (Audriana) — yep, we pretty much have Girl Scout Cookies coming out of our ears this year!

4) French Fries or Onion Rings?  French Fries!

5) Share something you’ve done in the last week that makes you proud of yourself.

Okay, giving this some thought.  This week wasn’t such a hot week for me.  You all know I’ve had a tough week with losing the baby.  At 10 weeks along, I suppose it would have been easier both physically and emotionally to get put to sleep to have a D & C done, but I just wasn’t comfortable with that invasion to my uterus.  So I let things happen naturally at home, just like the last one.  So to be honest, I’m proud of myself that I was strong enough (again, physically and emotionally) to handle that, and that everything went smoothly.  (Sorry if this answer is a little morbid, but to be honest I didn’t do much this week and so this was the only thing I could think of!)

6) What is your favorite inexpensive indulgence?  Inexpensive? Ha, that’s a hard one.  Okay, let me think about that….I suppose that would be having a Venti Double Chocolate Frappuccino at Starbucks.

7) Are you currently reading a book? If so, which one?  Yes, I am reading The Fiery Cross by Diana Galbadon, which is the 4th book of the Outlander Series.  I’m not enjoying it as much as the first three, but I hear you just have to push through it in order to understand the following books  (sort of like book 2 of the Twilight Series, lol)

8) Do you prefer to text or talk?  I like talking on the phone better with my sister and my best friends, but with all others…I like to text!  With my husband, I prefer to text.  He’s not much of a phone person, but for some reason he really likes to text.   So we have some of our best conversations while texting!

9) Have you ever performed on stage?  unless you count mandatory elementary school performances, no I have not.  I’m not much of a performer and do not enjoy being up on stage with all eyes on me!

10) Are you more likely to pick truth or dare?  That depends on the question…doesn’t the game go like this:  you are asked a “truth” and then can choose whether you want to answer it or take a “dare” ??   If so, then I would listen to the “truth” question;  if it’s something too personal, I’d choose “dare”  and would do the dare no problem — except if I’m asked to eat something gross….  in which case, I might just have to default back to the “truth” question.  I cannot and will not eat anything gross!

My heart is with you and your struggle right now. I have done that and it’s painful both physically and emotionally but in many ways I think it’s healing. I really feel that going through the process really helped me deal and cope and understand. It isn’t easy either way though. Know that I am thinking of you. On another note: I just may still this form and use it on my blog because I like how it opens up your life a little more :)
