more limericks and random happenings

March 18, 2011

There once was a boy dressed in green
Who has never once had a vaccine
Doctor visits are few
Never sick with the flu
In fact, his health record is clean!
This girl? She can be kinda flirty
With straight A’s she is actually quite nerdy
But the boys they do call
And dad chases away all
She’s fifteen but she thinks she is thirty.
Big sister and little sister are friends
Together much time do they spend
Not a moment apart
They are twins of the heart
When they fight they quickly make amends.
My son and that darn iPod Touch
I say that he’s on it too much!
What about homework and chores?
Why, they are nothing but bores!
Yet his toy he holds in a tight clutch.
             *********************************************************************************************
Okay, that’s enough with the limericks.  My mind has been in the limerick mode ever since writing this one.  But enough is enough already!
Moving on to other things….
Afton had her high school soccer banquet the other night.  What a wonderful celebration it was.  All the girls got dressed up, and it was quite the party!
Here she is with a few of her teammates
and with her Daddy
and her Mommy!
And Alex had a violin concert this week.  I keep trying to encourage him with the violin because I think it would be awesome if he could play a few instruments along with the piano. I would love for him to play the violin all the way up to his high school years, and then play in his high school orchestra.  I hear that colleges look for orchestra members and that those who have that experience tend to get chosen over other college applicants.  So, we will see what he ultimately decides to do.  So far he likes the piano much better than the violin.  What gets me is that he is equally good at both!  I hate for him to quit one of them.
A.J. continues to amaze us with his skills at the game of baseball.
He fields the ball with such accuracy
But hey, there’s not much you can do when the ball is thrown over your head, LOL!
It’s very fun watching him play first base and short stop.  Those are the two positions he is in the most.   He is a natural at baseball, and we look forward to watching him play throughout his childhood and teenage years.
