the special egg

April 25, 2011

Afton and Alex were arguing today while we were coloring Easter eggs, and so I told Afton that being the older of the two, she had to do anything and everything to get along with Alex because I didn’t want to hear fighting on Easter.  So she made a special egg for Alex, to show her love.
“Alex is Special”
Her way of sticking it to him without fighting.Easter morning…the kids woke up to find that the Easter Bunny left their baskets on the kitchen island.

Nine baskets.  Because no  matter how old you are….
if you are still living in the family house, you get an Easter basket.

Yep, that means you, Mr. Twenty-year-old.

The Egg Hunt

Dying Eggs

And let’s not forget that while eggs are lots of fun to decorate and hunt for,  the true meaning of Easter is much deeper than that…

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him.”
John 3:16-17

HAPPY EASTER!

    Hoppy Easter!…yesterday.

I wish the Easter Bunny still came and visited me. I think my family’s too old now. Sad. But, at least I got to hide a few things from my future sis-in-law so we could have our own little hunt.

Beautiful kids, lovely weather – looks like a wonderful Easter!
We had 10 kids for Easter this year, my daughter’s boyfriend came from 3 hours away and spent Easter weekend with us. So yep, the two 21 year olds and my 20 year old all got Easter baskets right along with my littles. Gotta do it! Theirs had iTunes cards and stuff, but still! They had fun.
