Baby No More

July 25, 2011

You requested a “Dora” birthday – you just loves Dora the Explorer.

I took you shopping at the party supply store, and you picked out your own special Dora cup, some Dora cupcake decorations, Dora party hats and plates, and even Dora wrapping paper.  You were so excited, planning your birthday party!

You wore your favorite party dress (you picked it out, of course!) and big sister Afton did your hair with a pretty flower in it.  She even helped you put on some lip gloss.  You looked so amazingly precious on this special day!

You were a bit shy when opening up all your gifts.  You kept asking me which one you should open.  “This one?” you’d ask me.  And when I’d say, “Go ahead, open it!”  you would stare at it for a few seconds and then ask again, “This one?”   Once you started opening up a gift, you took your time with the wrapping paper, ripping it off piece by piece.  I don’t know if you were just being shy and timid, or if you were trying to savor the moment!
Mommy made you a special “Dora” Cake!  You watched me make it,  and when it was done I squirted some left over frosting into your mouth. That made you happy!  Later that day at your party, you were very serious when everyone was singing “Happy Birthday” to you.   And then it took you five tries before you finally blew the candle out.
I closed my eyes and made a wish for you.
Sweet baby girl, you are such a gift to me.  God sure blessed me when He chose me to be your mama!  Your birth was such a special day that I will never forget. You were born in a pool of water, in our home, after a very quick  labor at just 1 hour 30 minutes from start to finish. When I grabbed you up from the water and placed you on my chest, you lifted your head off my chest and and looked me in the eyes.  It was so sweet the way you did that, just seconds out of the womb. It was as if you were saying, “Well, hello, mommy!”   I was the one to cut your cord.  You weighed 10 pounds 7 ounces ~ my biggest baby.   You and I stayed in our bedroom for 9 days without leaving it. Nine wonderfully, peaceful days. I had nothing to do but stare down at your beautiful face, count your fingers and toes,  hug and kiss and nurse and bond with you all day and night.  Your siblings would come in the room from time to time to say hello, and daddy brought me food and would hold you sometimes.  But for the majority of those nine days it was just me and you.  I loved every minute.
I can’t believe my “baby” is three years old!
::::sniff, sniff:::
Happy Birthday, Aria!
Mommy loves you so much!

    From Lynnette (I’d have to log out of work to log in as myself, sorry): Fun post. Happy birthday to your baby! She has your eyes! You’re both beautiful!

    Hi Audriana,
    My name is Jenna and your mom signed my guestbook on my site, and she gave me your site. You are a beautiful person inside and out, you have a beautiful smile. You are one amazing person. I know things get hard at times and can be challenging, but even if things take us a long time to accomplish something, and may not be able to physically play sports or something like, we can still do anything as long as we put our mind to it! So what I am saying to you is that You can do Anything You want to do, even if it takes you a long time to it! Please feel free to email, when ever you can. I would love to be your email pal, and remember U are not alone!
