girl time

July 12, 2011

Three of my girl friends celebrated their 40th birthdays together this Sunday and invited a bunch of us to join them…. for a Wine Tasting Day in Temecula Valley!  I had never been on a wine tasting tour ~ oh my gosh, so much fun!
Here we all are at the first winery.  Cheers!
We went to four different wineries on our tour.  I learned that although I do not care for white wine all that much, the sparkling white wines are pretty good!  I’m a fan of merlots, but after this tour I believe I’m more of a cab lover.  It seems that most of my favorites in each winery were the cabs.  Good to know.  Although I cannot correctly say “cabernet sauvignon”  to save my life ~ it’s the last word that my mouth refuses to pronounce.   So what I did was either point it out on the menu, or if the girl next to me ordered it, I’d say:  I’ll have the same.
So after our day of touring the wineries, we went to the local resort/casino and stayed the night.  One of us thought it would be a fun time if we all wore blue wigs while the three birthday girls wore pink wigs.  So, that is just what we did.
sorry for the poor picture quality – all we had were our camera phones
We went to dinner looking like this, we went to the casinos looking like this, and we went out dancing looking like this.  Hey, everything goes once you’re 4o, right?  We looked ridiculous, but it was so much fun!
And if you’re wondering what I might look like with short hair, here’s a close-up of me:
not bad                                   not bad                                          blue?  ridiculous!
