Aren’t these the cutest Valentine’s Day hearts?
I saw this photo on a wonderful blog called Clean and Scentsible
and right away I knew I wanted to make these with the kids.
Luckily, she had an awesome tutorial
They are called CRAYON HEARTS and they are a FUN project to do with your kids. Very simple, yet just to warn you the process is a bit messy (the crayon shavings get everywhere!) but what is a fun, kid craft project without a little mess, right? And we good mommies don’t worry or stress over a little mess, right? It’s all about the kids, right? You bet!

And here are the photos from our attempt at these cute Crayon Hearts.
One thing I want to add: Let the kids cut out their crayon hearts. Don’t do it for them, no matter how much you want them to look perfect. If you want perfect looking hearts, then make some of your own. (That’s what I did!)
I was actually impressed at how well Andrew and Aria cut their hearts. When did they get so good with scissors?
Because my kids didn’t want to stick to the light pink crayons for their crayon hearts, we had some deep purples, some dark reds, and even some blue hearts. But all the colors swirled and blended and made for some very interesting Valentine’s Day decorations. We hung them throughout the house near the windows so the light would shine through.
