This was Aiden’s first time at the beach! It’s not like he played in the sand or touched the water or anything, but hey, he was THERE. And it counts!
As soon as we get to the beach, my husband always digs the kids a huge pit to play in. He usually makes it so the walls are high enough to keep the water from invading our space on the sand above, but this day he must have been slacking because you can see in this photo that the wet sand is creeping up close to where I am sitting.
I love this picture of my husband and the kids. Aiden isn’t in the picture, and neither are my three oldest, or me for that matter. But still. It’s a good shot.
They spend hours digging for sand crabs. They collect them in buckets and at the end of the day they compare to see who found the biggest sand crab. There’s no prize for this. Just the bragging rights seem to be enough.
Ah, the dreaded sun scream application. Yes, I wrote sun scream instead of sun screen. It wasn’t intentional, but now that I think about it, it’s pretty darn accurate. My kids hate putting on the sun screen.
Beautiful.
And what can I say about these two? Alex and A.J. are not only brothers, but they are good friends to each other. I love that.
This is Aria. I think she’s resting face down in the sand. Looks that way to me.
Avery. Munching on a pita bread.
And that pretty much sums up Aiden’s first time at the beach. Hopefully, there will be a few more beach days for him this summer, but I can’t promise anything. On this particular day, my husband was off work and able to be with us (in other words, I had his much needed help!) and so that is why we went. On other days when he’s at work, the kids will ask “Can we go to the beach today?” and I will feel all the mommy guilt hit me at once when I say, “Not today. Let’s wait until the next time daddy is home.”

I agree the spray is easy and works well.

You guys should try the new spray-on sunscreen, it’s wonderful and you don’t have to rub it in at all!
Katrina says
we do have the spray but we don’t spray it on the face — its dangerous if inhaled
